Multifaceted Persona
Groomed under the hands of senior gynaecologist from Nashik, Dr AK Pawar, Dr Pradeep Pawar has not confined himself to the medical profession only but carried out even other business ventures successfully
THIS PROFESSION IS ALSO FILLED WITH TOUCHING MOMENTS AND THIS WAS ONE OF THOSE. THE PARENTS OF THE TWINS MUCH OLDER THAN ME THANKED ME BY TOUCHING MY FEET AND I CAN NEVER FORGET THAT MOMENThe tall and handsome persona seated in Vidula Nursing Home' would resemble T to be just another gynaecologist in the city. But not until you see his antecedents and learn what he is doing today, would you believe that in the span of 14 years of his practice, he has achieved success, which very few others would.
Meet Dr Pardeep Pawar, alumni of BJ Medical College, Pune, and trained under the watchful eyes of some of the seniors in the field, like Dr Mehroo Hansotia (pioneer in invitro fertility clinics in India). A specialist in infertility treatment, obstetrician and gynaec surgery. Dr Pawar happened to be the first research offi-cer at the first infertility clinic started at Wadia Hospital in 1989, Mumbai where he treated 1800 cases in three years.
Dr Pradeep, groomed by his father NK Pawar sir and his uncle and senior gynaec from Nashik, Dr AK Pawar, says, "My only goal was to be a gynaecologist. While pursuing DNB, DGO, DFP, DICOG, FICMCH, I received guidance from Prof Mehendale, Dr Hansotia, Dr Walvekar, Dr Daftary." After post graduation he joined Nashik Civil Hospital, in 1993. He was instrumental in starting the first fertility clinic centre of Civil Hospital in the entire State in 1994, Dr Pawar claims.
Having met his soul-mate, Dr Suwarna (M.D., D.G.O.) in col-lege itself, the goals of life for Dr Pawar became even more clearer and achievable. He along with Dr Suwarna, started the Vidula Nursing Home and Fertility Clinic in 1996, a complete women's care hospital providing obstetric, gynaec and advanced infertility treatments to patients. He claims to have introduced laparoscopic removal of uterus in Nashik in the year 1996 through Vidula Nursing Home and Fertility Clinic During all this time, Dr Pawar had his eyes firmly set on his immediate goal of starting an IVF clinic. Banking on the rich experience at Wadia, and the Civil Hospital's infertility clinic, Dr Pawar started the first IVF private clinic in North Maharashtru at Nashik, in 1999.
This resulted in the first test-tube baby twins born in 2000. This profession is also filled with touching moments and this was one of those. The parents of the twins much older than me thanked me by touching my feet and I can never forget that moment," he shares. Dr Suwarna Pawar besides managing her own private practic looks after the entire administration of the hospital. "Without D Suwarna, the management of our set-up would be impossible he says.
Dr Pawar is also a part of Suyash multi-specialty hospito (established in 2001), having best of facilities and equipment where all surgeries except by-pass can be conducted successfully Proving that the 'mind of a genius never rests' Dr Pawar came up with the Vinsura Wines in 2003 and a solid waste manageme plant responsible for picking up and disposing garbage, an established compost manure plants, in ten municipal corpon tions in the State.
Though he says that his work is his passion, the stress of such diverse activities can only be imagined. Suprisingly, this leaves him only more rejuvenated , as he believes that 'Change of activity alone is recreation.'
