OS Tightening

Ensuring a Healthy Pregnancy with Advanced Cervical Support

At Vidula Nursing Home & Fertility Clinic, we provide specialized OS Tightening procedures to support women at risk of cervical insufficiency. This treatment is crucial for maintaining a healthy pregnancy by preventing premature dilation of the cervix, which can lead to preterm labor or pregnancy loss.

What is OS Tightening?

OS Tightening, also known as Cervical Cerclage, is a surgical procedure where the cervix is reinforced with sutures to help it stay closed during pregnancy. This procedure is often recommended for women with a weak or incompetent cervix that cannot naturally support the weight of a growing baby.

Who Needs OS Tightening?
  • Recurrent Pregnancy Loss
  • Cervical Insufficiency
  • History of Preterm labor
  • Multiple Pregnancies
When is OS Tightening Performed?
  • Elective Cerclage: Done between 12-14 weeks of pregnancy for women with a known history of cervical insufficiency.
  • Emergency Cerclage: Performed later in pregnancy if the cervix begins to open prematurely but no signs of labor are present.
